Leela Azorin
I hold a PhD in English Linguistics and Phonetics (Language Sciences) from Aix-Marseille University. I did my PhD at the LPL Lab from 2021 to 2025 and am currently working as an ATER at ENS de Lyon / ICAR lab.
My research interests lie in the fields of linguistics and phonetics/phonology, with a specific focus on sociolinguistics. I am interested in language variation and language change, across multiple linguistic levels - morphology, phonetics, syntax, semantics, pragmatics - as well as the social factors that may impact these variations and changes. My research to date has focused on the emergent modal auxiliary Be going to/gonna but I am interested in variation of verbal forms more generally, as well as variation in discourse markers.
